1. Qualifications:


* You have to reside in India. You and up to three other adults may open a POMIS account together or separately. A POMIS account can also be opened by minors older than ten.

2. Required Documents:

Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, voter IDs, driver's licenses, and passports are examples of proof of identity. Ration cards, passports, driver's licenses, voter IDs, and utility bills are examples of proof of address. Two current passport-size photos are included.

* Your application will be processed and your documents verified by the post office. You will receive your POMIS account details after being accepted.

Important Information:

* Interest on POMIS is taxed; to open a POMIS account, you must have a Post Office savings account. The program has a five-year duration. At the conclusion of the original term, you have the option to extend the account for an additional five years.
