Trekkers and mountaineers love Kathmandu since it is the starting point to the Himalayas. The city is surrounded by mountains and situated at the base of the Kathmandu Valley. The Everest Base Camp Trek and the Annapurna Circuit are two of the most well-liked hiking routes in the region.
A Festival City
In addition to being a vibrant city, Kathmandu hosts several festivals all year long. The most well-known celebrations are Holi, Tihar, and Dashain. The greatest holiday in Nepal, Dashain, commemorates the triumph of good over evil. The festival of lights, Tihar, is observed by lighting candles and oil lamps. The festival of colors, Holi, is observed by hurling water and colored powder at one another.
